Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability

Asplins PO is a group of independent fruit growers who are committed to promoting and encouraging responsible relationships throughout the fruit sector, so that consumers can enjoy our fruit safe in the knowledge that it has been grown, harvested, packed and distributed with care for the environment and respect for all the people involved in the supply chain.

Looking after our environment is a priority, for not only do we live and work here, it makes good business sense too. Whether investing in renewable energy, water conservation, or protecting biodiversity it is creating sustainability for both the farming operations and the environment.

We recognise our position as a leading and innovative UK soft fruit producer and supplier, and are investing in reducing the environmental impact of our production, working side by side with the environment.

All Asplins members are compliant with ethical trading protocols. Through membership of SEDEX our members have carried out ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative) audits. For seasonal labour, our members use labour providers who are members of ALP (Association of Labour Providers) and trained in Stronger Together. Asplins PO has a whistle-blower policy whereby any member of staff can report any incidence of bullying or exploitation to management in confidence. The Red Tractor Scheme is currently being extended to encompass worker safety and welfare.
